History:Grow is about people.
Grow has a rich history
in a number of countries being first started in Australia in 1957.
But the important history of Grow is the GROWer's struggles and
their achievements that others can use to help them on the way.
Below is an example of a person working with the help of Grower's
and the Grow program to overcome:
As Harold says:
oMy
Winning Game - 'The Idea is to
overcome depressing negative thoughts by exchanging them for positive
thoughts. When I notice negative thoughts I can remind myself
that I have the choice.
I use a visualisation in which I see my mind as a large computer.
I run a program to change from negative default to a positive
default. Sometimes just to thinking about making these changes
is enough to escape from the negative thinking.'
In the Grow Blue
book there is a section on controlling unhealthy thoughts it says
- starve them out and crowd them out which involves cultivating
positive thoughts and talk, and wholesome interests and habits.
Sometimes unwanted
thoughts seem to control my mind and make me think that I have
no control. But this is just an example of the habit of the mind
and I know that habits can be changed. Now I Know that my winning
game is to exchange the habit of negative thinking and to keep
in mind that it is possible and only requires practice to be effective.'
